I was going to purchase a lot in this community. The realtor told me that I could live there full time in a tiny home. When I checked with the Park County Zoning Commission I was told I could only live there 6 months out of the year in a tiny home, even though I would be owning the lot. This zoning decision had been made recently. So it always pays to check with the local zoning commission regardless of what any realtor or owner of a property tells you.

        Thanks for your review Patrice.
I’m sorry you were wrongly informed by a realtor. I double checked with all involved to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
To clarify this issue, full-time living is allowed by the HOA. Several people already do.
Living full time in a dwelling like a THOW or a RV is still a gray area in many cases. Also here. However, we are waiting on the start of the annexation of this Village into the Town of Fairplay. With it, we wish to put the full time living on paper too, legally! This is exciting!
I understand from a conversation we had that the owner of Whispering Aspen Village (you may refer to the owner of the remaining lots) told you that we filed at the county. I understand you checked that. The county may not be aware of this process because this process is in the works with the Town instead. Both HOA, bank, and owner of remaining lots are working on that.
For questions on where we are and why we are where we are and what’s possible or no, don’t hesitate and ask. Or follow us on facebook for updates. The page is linked on our profile (website section). Again, living tiny is in most cases still a challenge and needs clarification. Happy to be of help.
